Hello God.
Hello Edward.
I want to talk with you today about money.
Good. I like money.
You do?
Of course I do. I made it.
You did?
How could I have not?
I guess it’s just hard for me to imagine you making something that seems to be so “not-sacred.”
You mean “root of all evil” type of stuff?
Yeah, like that.
Everything I have made, which, by the way, is everything, is sacred. It is only in your perception and utilization that you impose this idea of evil onto them. Money is no more or less sacred than a statue of the Buddha or Christ. Nor is a likeness of a diety any more or less sacred than money. It is always, and only your perception that creates a hierarchy of sacredness. In my reality everything that is, is sacred.
Hello God.

I guess it’s just hard for me to imagine you making something that seems to be so “not-sacred.”

So any feelings of hesitation or resistance that I have to money are self created.
Yes, just as all of your feelings are self-created.
And yet, in my self-defense, I must say that some topics, money being one of them, have more cultural weight in one direction or the other.
Indeed they do. And these topics provide you with the best opportunities for connecting with the truth that All That Is is sacred.
I get that. And I see that, for me, money is a particularly ripe area for exploration and transformation. So, I’m wondering if you have any suggestions that will help me in my evolutionary process, specifically around money.
Remember that your evolution happens in every area of your life.
Yes. And it feels as if each person has certain areas that provide more fuel for the process.
That is true. My point is only to guard against focusing too narrowly on those areas. In so doing you run the risk of missing the view of the entire forest, for focusing on a single tree, if I might borrow one of your popular expressions.
That makes sense… I feel I need to apologize. I’m feeling a bit scattered tonight. My thoughts are not staying focused on our connection.
You never have to apologize to me.
I appreciate that. And I think I needed to speak that as much for myself as for you. Perhaps by voicing it I will bring my focus back to center. We’ll see.
Whatever level of focus you bring in any given moment, is perfect. As soon as you begin judging yourself, telling yourself you’re doing it wrong, or not good enough, you begin the slow ride down the tunnel of disconnection. Our connection is perfect in each and every moment. Whatever focus you bring to it, whatever you get from our conversation is exactly what you need in that moment.
Thank you for that. It relieves some of the pressure.
Good.
So lets get back to the topic of money, and any insight you have about coming into a more sacred relationship with it.
Let go of everything you have learned or read about money.
Everything?
Everything.
Even the good stuff?
How can you discern what is good and what is not good when you are stuck in a belief system that tells you that money itself is not good?
I suppose I can’t, and that’s been my problem.
Indeed it has. You’ve been trying to overlay these ideas about manifestation and abundance onto a foundation that is rotten. You need to rebuild from the ground up, not add more layers on top in the hope that something good will emerge.
And how do I do that?
This is where you become creative.
Meaning that you’re not going to tell me how to do it?
Exactly.
But you will give me some feedback on my ideas.
Of course.
Great. Well the first thing that comes up is to do a ritual, a ritual in which I raze the structure that I have built around money. The structure that holds all of my beliefs, whether self-created or absorbed from family, friends, society, etc.
Good. What else?
Affirmation and awareness come up next.
Tell me more.
I can create an affirmation that returns me to the foundation that money is sacred.
Seems to be you already have.
Yes. “Money is Sacred.”
And so it is. And awareness?
Awareness is about a daily practice of noticing my internal reaction to money. How does my body react to having it, not having it, asking for it, giving it away, etc?
And where will that awareness lead you?
To an ability to know when I am engaging with money from a place of non-sacredness, which will, hopefully, lead me to an ability to shift into a place of sacredness.
Wonderful. And what else?
You mean there’s more?
There’s always more.
The crazy thought came to lead a workshop on re-sacralizing our relationship with money.
Why is that crazy?
How am I qualified to lead such a workshop?
How are you not qualified?
Well I can probably give you about 100 reasons why I’m not qualified.
And I can definitely give you more than 100 reasons why you are qualified.
Well I think I’ll take your word for it, knowing that I’m not going to offer that workshop anytime soon.
Why not?
My plate is pretty darn full as it is… You’re not saying anything.
There’s nothing to say.
I don’t think you’ve ever had nothing to say.
Maybe you’re not listening.
Maybe I don’t want to hear what you have to say?
Maybe not. What could I say that you wouldn’t want to hear?
That I do have room in my schedule to offer this workshop. That I am qualified to lead it. That it’s worthwhile. That people would want it. You know, stuff like that.
Hmm, sounds like stuff that I would say.
Yes. It does. I tell you what. Let’s discuss it at our next session. There’s another workshop idea I want to run by you. We can look at both of them and see what comes up.
That sounds good.
In the meantime, I’ll be working with my affirmation, focusing my awareness on my inner attitude towards money, and pondering the possibility of doing a ritual.
Wonderful. I look forward to our next session.
As do I. And I thank you for all of your input.
You are very welcome.
